Pregnancy Skin Care Must Haves: Hydration for Pregnancy Glow and Stretch Mark Prevention.

As I come near to the end of my first pregnancy I feel like I have a better understanding of what worked for me and my changing body. Through out these past 9 months I tried many different skin care and beauty products to help with hormonal changes in my skin, and with trial and error I have found two products that I can truly stand behind and recommend.

Neutrogena Hydro boost Water Gel

Before I become pregnant and during my first trimester I was using the Cerave AM Moisturizer with SPF everyday religiously. However, one day I started to developed an itchy rash on my face and neck. I knew right away something had given me an allergic reaction, however I didn’t know what. After figuring out that my moisturizer wasn’t doing it for me anymore I went on the hunt to find the next best thing for my sensitive skin. Which lead me to the Hydro Boost Water Gel.

I had read and watched many reviews on the Hydro Boost Moisturizer and decided to give it a try. I instantly fell in love with it and have repurchased it many times since. The Hydro Boost was exactly what my skin needed, it moisturizes without leaving my skin oily or with a residue. My skin has become much drier due to the California “Winter” and my raging pregnancy hormones, however the Hydro Boost adapts very well to my dry areas and my oily T-zone. I have received SO MANY compliments on my “glowing skin” and I have to say, that although I’m sure my prenatal vitamins are doing my skin well, the moisturizer is the key.

Pregnant or not, always moisturize and drink plenty of water. I promise you your skin will glow!

Burt’s Bee Momma Bee Belly Butter

Most women’s main concern during pregnancy, aside from a healthy baby, are stretch marks. Although science says that stretch marks are hereditary, why not do what you can to try to prevent them. My whole pregnancy I used the Burt’s Bee Momma Bee Belly Butter on my growing belly and to this day I have NOT ONE stretch mark on my stomach. The reason why I know this cream works is because I did get stretch marks just not where I slathered the cream. I was so focused on moisturizing my belly that I neglected other growing parts of my body such as my thighs and hips which sprouted stretch marks.

When you moisturize your body properly you decrease your chances of getting stretch marks since your skin has healthy elasticity and can grow without damaging aka stretch marks. I wish I could go back in time and use this cream all over my body and not just my belly, but hopefully you can learn from my mistakes.

  1. Good day! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog. Is it difficult to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you

    1. Hello Richelle!
Mom life has kept me very busy so I’m sorry for the late reply.

Honestly, starting you own blog is not hard at all in regards to the technical part especially with Word Press. The hardest part will be literally just starting!! Good luck!
